5 Takeaways from Team ’22 – Day 1

<p>Today is the first day of <a href="https://events.atlassian.com/team22/home" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Atlassian’s annual conference, Team ’22</a>, and we could not be more excited! This year the Highway Three Solutions team is represented in-person at the event in Las Vegas as well as tuning in to the digital experience from the office. Here are some of our highlights from the talks so far.</p> <div style="height:16px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1. Atlassian Atlas</h2> <p>We can’t wait to try the new <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.atlassian.com/software/atlas" target="_blank">teamwork directory tool, Atlas</a>, that was just announced. It looks like a very useful way to get up-to-date status information on a project from multiple sources. Atlassian hopes it can make boring status meetings a thing of the past and allow teams to get the latest updates whenever they need. We’ll be trialling it in our projects. Confluence Knowledge Bases</h2> <p>As heavy Confluence users we <em>love</em> the shared editor interface. The built-in page templates make it easy to gather requirements and document solutions for future reference. </p> <p>Using Jira Service Management to power our help desk for our Professional Services support is a great way for us to receive requests from our customers. Now we can bring the same rich documentation from Confluence directly into JSM with the help of knowledge base integration. Sharing knowledge has never been easier. </p> <p>Plus now using knowledge bases in JSM doesn’t require having a separate Confluence license!</p> <div style="height:16px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">3. Confluence Presenter Mode (and more)</h2> <p>But all of this beautiful and detailed content isn’t worth much if it’s hidden away. Automation for Confluence</h2> <p>At Highway Three Solutions we are big fans of Automation for Jira. Taking the pain out of tedious manual processes is always a goal of ours so when we heard that we’ll soon be able to apply the same tools in Confluence we were over the moon. </p> <p>Here’s hoping to release date for this in the near future. Check back soon for our rundown of all the new features available in Automation for Confluence.</p> <div style="height:16px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">5. The Future of Conferences is Hybrid</h2> <p>After two years of digital-only programming this year’s Team ’22 is the first return to an in-person event. Luckily for those unable to make the trip to Las Vegas many of the sessions are broadcast live online too. </p> <p>For our team currently attending both on- and offline we see the benefits to both approaches and believe that tandem events like this are the way to go.
