Highway Three assisted the British Columbia Ministry of Health in developing the infrastructure it needs to effectively manage and collect health information in a timely manner.

Highway Three helped the Ministry to build a secure, yet flexible and scalable middle tier with delivery, testing and production environments for the Ministry.s applications.

The middle tier uses a variety of Oracle and third party frameworks. The middle tier is deployed on Solaris 10 zoned containers with non co-located infrastructure components. The architecture uses external and internal Apache reverse proxies to control access to the middle tier, which then uses mod oc4j to access the secure java applications. Given the often sensitive nature of health related data, privacy and security was a chief concern for this project.
